Romans 8: 11 “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you.”
“The Holy Spirit is in you. The same breath that moved over the waters at creation. The very same Spirit that gave life to Jesus as he brought healing and justice through the hills and valleys of Galilee, Samaria, and Judea. The same breath that lit a fire and created the church on Pentecost. The same breath that empowered modern prophets like the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the same breath that we share with all living things on this planet.
Are you feeling your mortality today? Take a breath. Are you feeling low, not sure where to summon the energy for the day? Take a breath. Need to feel connected to something bigger than yourself? Take a breath.”
With every breath that we take, we are reminded of who we are and where the gift of our lives comes from. The Holy Spirit dwells within us and leads and guides us. As we continue to journey through this Lenten season, let us be intentional about remembering our breath. Breath that gives us life. Breath that sustains us. Breath that nurtures us.

Palm Sunday service at Rockford Rescue Mission at 5pm
