Blessed Are the Peacemakers

 

Today we are sharing prompts to inspire your personal spiritual time and help you set your intentions for the upcoming week. Take a moment to reflect on the following and journal your thoughts.

 

Scripture

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9).

 

Prayer

Peaceful God, help us use your word and our hands to make positive change in the world around us. May we be peace bearers in our homes, communities and relationships. Amen.

Acts of kindness

Volunteer with a nonprofit in your area.

Check the website of your local ELCA congregation or synod for a list of staff members. Pick a couple folks to receive a handwritten letter of encouragement or a handwritten prayer.

Organize a clothing, shoe or food drive in your community.

Visit a school in your neighborhood and donate school supplies, or offer to pay for a student’s overdue lunch balance.
