With Praise and Thanksgiving
I am grateful to God and to you, the people of Alpine, for the gift of sharing life together for the past 23 months. And it feels a little odd to be thanking you for the wonderful party that I know you have been planning (but have kept the details from me!) before it takes place. But such is the schedule of preparing a newsletter a week ahead of the time it will be read.
But thanks in advance are better than thanks unexpressed. So thank you as well for a wonderful time of celebration and surprise. I know that I leave having had my life enriched by you. And I hope that I have also been of service to you. You are in very good hands with Pastor Rachel. And she is in good hands with you.
What’s next for me? I will have two months before I begin another interim appointment, this one back in the Metro Chicago Synod and a bit closer to home. In that time of waiting I will be able to worship sitting next to Joy for the first time in a long time. We’re looking forward to that.
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen
