August 11th Worship in the Park.

Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to connect with other believers and enjoy the blessing of Christian Fellowship.  (Please note, there will be no worship service at Alpine on Aug. 11th.  We will gather instead at Swedish Heritage Park at 10:00 AM for worship and fellowship in the park).

Why is Christian Fellowship so important? The New Testament word for fellowship “koinonia” expresses the idea of being together for mutual benefit. Hebrews 10:24-25 shares this idea, saying, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.” So Fellowship is a mutual bond that Christians have with Christ that puts us in a deep, eternal relationship with one another. It is an essential component for the growth of our faith.  Below are 2 descriptions of Fellowship and 18 blessings/fruits that come from the unique fellowship that we have as followers of Christ.

“Aloneness can lead to loneliness. God’s preventative for loneliness is intimacy – meaningful, open, sharing relationships with one another. In Christ we have the capacity for the fulfilling sense of belonging which comes from intimate fellowship with God and with other believers.” Neil T Anderson

“The physical presence of other Christians is a source of incomparable joy and strength to the believer.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer
