Welcome to 2022! It is a new year for all of us at Alpine to continue our work together in our mission to “share God’s love.”  2021 certainly did have it’s challenges while at the same time we saw the reward of our work both with our Alpine Family and the neighborhood and community around us.  Thank you to everyone who continues to donate time, talent and financial resources that allow us to continue to serve.

As we ended 2021 we also approved and began a leave for Pastor Dan.  I’d like to thank Pastor Rick Meier and Pastor Pam Lojewski for their willingness to serve in the month of December.  We appreciate their stepping in to fill this need.  When we made the announcement regarding Pastor Dan’s leave I had promised to keep everyone informed as we move forward during this time.  I want you to know that we do have pastoral support. If you have any pastoral needs, please contact Lynn Valentine in our office and she will coordinate that need.

This month, as we continue Pastor Dan’s leave, we will have supply pastors serving our congregation.  The following schedule is currently set:  January 9th Deacon Cheryl Erdmann from our Northern IL Synod office will preside; on January 16th Pastor Pam Lojewski with be with us again;  January 23rd plans are still developing; and  on January 30th Bishop Jeffery Clements from the Northern IL Synod will lead us in worship (Please note, there is only one service at 10 AM this day). Our Academy students will be singing on January 30th instead of the first Sunday of February as well. Thank you to all of these pastors and our Bishop for their willingness to serve us in January.

Please watch your e-mail and announcements during services about additional information.  We look forward to having our Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 30th following our one worship service at 10 AM.  More information will come regarding that meeting.  We encourage you to share concerns or comments you’d like us to consider for discussion at this meeting.  Please see myself or any member of the Church Council.

Thank you Alpine members for your continued support and desire to serve all of our Alpine Family, our neighbors and the community that surrounds us.

(It will be lighter longer by then.) If you were unable to dedicate a luminary previously, we will continue to take dedications through January 23rd.  Forms are on the kiosk in the narthex.
